Nigerian Foreign Minister receives outgoing Sahrawi Ambassador

Abuja, 22 February 2020 (SPS) - Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Geoffrey Onyeama, on Friday received outgoing Sahrawi Ambassador, Mr. Malanine Al-Siddiq, at the headquarters of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue at the international and African levels and the various aspects of cooperation and ways of developing the historical relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.

During the meeting, Mr. Onyeama confirmed the firm position of the Nigerian State on the just cause of the Sahrawi people and its right to self-determination.

For his part, the Sahrawi Ambassador praised, on behalf of the government and people of the Sahrawi Republic, the position of support and the and historical accompaniment of the Nigerian state and people to the Sahrawi people in their struggle.

At the end of the farewell meeting, the Nigerian Minister presented a symbolic gift to the Sahrawi Ambassador in appreciation of his efforts to promote the relations between the two countries and his dedication to serving his people and his just cause, wishing him success in his future tasks.
