Kingdom of Lesotho denies once again lies of Kingdom of Morocco

Maseru, 14 December 2019 (and Iver) - Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, Official Spokesperson for the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Mr. Thesele Maseribane, on Saturday stated that the Kingdom of Lesotho has not changed its principled position on the Western Sahara issue based on the right of self-determination and that it maintains friendly diplomatic relations with the Sahrawi State.

He made this statement after a member of his country's government fell into the trap of the propaganda and bribery machine of the Moroccan occupier that brought him to Rabat to make statements contrary to his country's policy, which was condemned by the four-party Lesotho government after agreeing to reject any prejudice to the fundamental principles of this country's foreign policy known for its stances against colonialism, racial discrimination, and occupation.

"Any statements by persons in their individual capacity claim that they can change the position to compromise on this issue, these statements will be null and void," said Mr. Maseribane.

He praised "the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Sahrawi Republic," stressing that these relations, which have lasted for decades, are continuously strengthened.

The Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, and Official Spokesperson for the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho mentioned the mutual visits that took place at the highest levels between the two brotherly countries, including the visit of Prime Minister Thomas Thabane. (SPS)
